David Finlayson Camino Africana Semillon 2025
The vineyard that this wine is made from was planted on Edgebaston in 2005. As the years have progressed, we have noticed that more and more of the bunches on the vines are turning a slightly pink skin colour, later in the ripening period.
This shows that the vines are actually what is now recognised officially as the endemic South African grape, Semillon Gris. There is still some time and regulatory work before we can start to call the wine made from this vineyard Semillon Gris but we know that we have something special in this vineyard and we have decided that it is worthy of the special selection wines that we label under the Camino Africana range.
This is a white wine with texture and tannins extracted from its skin during the cold soak after crush.
